David’s Tree Rap
This was a school project and here it is.
LYRICS:
Sup yall
We about to get down
Its our project about trees
Its the TRUTH
The oak is the mightiest of all trees,
Its known to have healing powers in its leaves,
The ancient Romans thought it attracted lightning,
So they connected it to Zues who was very frightening,
30 to 160 feet tall,
The oak loses it leaves in the fall,
Theres over 400 species worldwide,
But only 40 on the American side.
The birch represents a new beginning,
Cleanses your past and removes your sinning,
The trunk of a birch is the color white,
The name comes from a root meaning shine or bright
The birch produces its very own fruit,
In edible strains the size of a newt,
The bark of a birch is something to see,
Smooth, peeling, and even hairy,
The sassaphras is different from most trees,
I say this because it has three types of leaves,
Theres mitten, oval, and three-lobe too,
Put them in your tea, or make a stew.
The leaves of a sassaphras is many colors,
Red, pink, silver, and a few others,
The sassaphras is a home-grown tree,
Native to the northeast part of the country,
The last one to dish is the maple tree,
It means balance, promise, and practicality,
The maple is a show stopper in the fall,
Its red and yellow leaves will fill you with awe
The maple is where the helicopters are found,
When they fall they spin to the ground,
The sap is the best part of the tree,
Its made into syrup for you and me
