How healthy is drinking iced tea?
I love iced tea (not sweet tea) and i make about 2 pitchers a day for my family. I hardly ever drink water unless we are out of tea or in the winter. I dont drink soda very often because im trying to loose weight so i switched to tea and i was just wondering how healthy it is to drink tea instead of water.
I don’t know if tea is any healthier than water, which is the "healthiest" of drinks. Tea acts as a diuretic, which basically makes you pee more. So water’s a better hydrator. As long as it’s not loaded with sugar, I’d say it’s OK. Though I think the acidity is also not good for your teeth or stomach. Then you have to consider adverse affects of caffeine, like messing up your sleep quality.
Of you’re choosing between tea and water, I’d choose water any day.
Now, if you’re looking at tea over water as a weight loss enhancer, I don’t think it does a better job than water, other than maybe helping you lose water weight.
I still say shoot for water when looking for help with weight loss.
